The research behind the product

Don’t take our word for it.See the facts. See what we built—and how it works.

The evidence starts with observed business behavior—not a small opinion poll. Large-scale transaction studies show the cash-flow volatility and financial fragility businesses actually experience. Official payment research and operational invoice data show the cost of late collections and preventable payment errors. Finance-leader surveys then explain why trust, integration, and measurable AI results remain unresolved.

AI accounting has a trust problem.

VibrantaAI was built to create trusted, connected, visible accounting results—and show exactly what was checked, what was caught, what changed, what remains open, and what the owner should do next.

Observed business behavior at scale

See each fact, its source, and the solution we built.

We lead with real transactions, operating outcomes, payment behavior, and detected accounting errors. Each source links to the original evidence and includes the sample, period, methodology, and limitations that matter.

JPMorganChase Institute 2026 Small Business Snapshot — Figure 1 and Methodology

The Institute analyzed 2.1 million small businesses with Chase Business Banking accounts that operated throughout 2025. In the nationwide sample, the typical firm held 17.6 cash-buffer days—meaning its cash reserves could sustain average outflows for less than 18 days if inflows stopped. The sample required active operating behavior and limited firms to one ZIP code and one industry.

Translate cash into time—and warn before the runway becomes critical.

VibrantaAI looks beyond today’s balance to expected collections, payroll, vendor obligations, accruals, taxes, and planned payments. Romy explains how long available cash can support the business and which action changes the outlook.

Growth, Vitality, and Cash Flows — Data and Finding Four

JPMorganChase Institute analyzed 1.3 million de-identified small businesses with Chase Business Banking accounts and more than 3.1 billion transactions from October 2012 through February 2018. It found that small-business cash flows were volatile, irregular, and potentially unpredictable. Firms with volatile expenses were much more likely to exit than firms with other cash-flow patterns.

Watch the timing, volatility, and consequence—not only the ending balance.

VibrantaAI compares revenue, expenses, payroll, collections, obligations, budgets, and prior periods. Romy identifies unusual timing or amount changes and connects them to cash pressure and the next owner decision.

Cash Flows, Balances, and Buffer Days — Findings Three and Data

A separate JPMorganChase Institute study used 470 million anonymized transactions from 597,000 small businesses from February through October 2015. The median business could cover 27 days of normal outflows if inflows stopped; 25% held 13 days or fewer, while the top quarter held more than 62 days.

Show cash after the commitments the bank balance does not explain.

Romy considers payroll, payables, taxes, accruals, planned payments, and expected collections before showing what is truly available, then warns when a decision would compress the cash cushion.

UK Late Payments Research 2025 — Key Findings

Research commissioned by the UK Department for Business and Trade and Office of the Small Business Commissioner estimates that late payments affect 28% of businesses annually. Businesses are owed £26 billion at any time—£17,000 on average per affected business. The estimated annual impact is almost £11 billion, 14,000 business closures, and 133 million staff hours spent chasing payments.

Make every overdue receivable visible—and connect it to the cash plan.

The owner sees exactly who owes money, the amount, age, promised timing, follow-up status, and cash impact. Romy prioritizes collections and prepares owner-approved follow-ups before overdue balances become a surprise.

Basware 2023 invoice-payment analysis

Basware reported identifying 10,800 incorrect supplier payments caused by duplicates and fraud across $245 billion of spend, recovering $191 million. This is provider-reported operational evidence—not an independent survey—and it demonstrates the material cost hidden inside payment exceptions.
